Alex Ferdi is an ophthalmic surgeon and medical retina specialist. He holds the academic appointment of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Dr Ferdi completed his medical degree at Cambridge University and University College London.
He has trained in both the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London as well as Sydney Eye Hospital which included training in laser procedures and complex cataract surgery.
Dr Ferdi has completed a combined medical retina and research fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital. He holds a PhD and his extensive research has been awarded by the Northcote Trust. Dr Ferdi has published over 20 research papers in international scientific journals. He is passionate about teaching medical students, examines and supervises Masters scholars and reviews other researchers’ work.
